Terms of use

The rules for using TaxPip. Last changed 23 October 2026.

Draft

This is a draft. It has not been reviewed by a solicitor and is not final. It will be settled before the service opens to the public.

Who runs the service

TaxPip is run by [the operator's legal name], of [the operator's postal address]. Write to [a support email address].

What the service is

TaxPip is software for keeping a limited company's books and preparing its accounts and tax figures. It is not an accountancy firm, it does not give tax, legal or accounting advice, and it does not file anything on your behalf. It is not registered with HMRC or Companies House.

What it produces is a draft for you, or your accountant, to check. Suggestions made by the software, including those made by an AI model, can be wrong.

What is your responsibility

  • The accuracy of what you upload and of what you approve.
  • Checking the figures before anything is filed, and filing and paying on time.
  • Keeping your sign-in safe, and telling the operator if you think somebody else has used it.
  • Using the service only for companies you are entitled to act for.

Using the service

Do not try to get at another account's records, to overload the service, or to use it for anything unlawful. The operator may suspend an account that does.

Your records

You can take a copy of the account's records at any time, and ask for your own details to be erased. Accounting records have to be kept for years by law, so the books of an account are kept even where the people in them are erased.

The privacy notice says what is held and why.

Charges

There is no charge during early access. If a charge is introduced it will be published first, and you will not be charged without agreeing to it.

Availability and changes

The service is in early access. It may be unavailable, it may change, and it may have faults. The operator may change these terms, and will say so on this page.

Liability

[The limits on the operator's liability, to be written with legal advice. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited.]

Governing law

[The governing law and where disputes are heard, to be settled with legal advice.]
